Rob Stevens Joins Optix Solutions

The second of our new hires this month is Rob Stevens who joins us as Director of Operations. Rob’s background is in leading operational teams to delight customers and grow businesses, by challenging and supporting teams in finding new ways of behaving and thinking.  He was most recently working for a global telecommunications provider as a senior leader, focused specifically on improving the employee and customer experience.

Rob will be working closely with the two founding Directors, Alastair and James, to help to take the business to the next level. Optix turned 20 in 2019 and, having grown organically over 20 years, there is a recognition that a more structured approach is required in order to scale over the coming years. Robs background and skill set made him the ideal candidate and we’re delighted that he is joining the team.

A series of large client wins and the launch of the Optix Digital Academy mean that Rob is joining us at a very exciting time:

The Director of Operations role is a new one for Optix, discussing the requirement for this key appointment, our Director Alastair explains how it will impact on his, and his co-director James’ roles in the business:

“We’re not going anywhere. We simply want to focus on the areas that we are best at. For me this means more time helping our clients strategically, more public speaking and more thought leadership. For James this means pushing new services in UI/UX and special projects. These areas are our passion and a return to them means leaving a gap in the company around HR, Finance and Project Management in particular. We also recognise that these are areas which we’ve learnt ourselves rather than having a more traditional and trained background in. Other people will be better at them than us. We’re big enough to admit that.”
